Information we collect
We collect the following pieces of information during registration:
- full name,
- institution,
- email address,
- IP address.
We use these information to control who has access to the API. The IP
is used for our rate-limiting system.
Your IP address is hashed before it is stored in our database to
preserve your privacy.
When you access our API, your browser transmits certain information,
such as its version information and your IP address. When you use the
search functionality, the search terms that you enter may also be
logged. Our web server software logs this information solely for the
purpose of investigating security incidents, improving site
reliability, performing statistical analysis over aggregated data for
research purposes, and responding to legal requests.
Data security
All the data collected by our website is transmitted over encrypted
channels. This information is stored on a password-protected web server
in a physically secured location.
